Fighting Float Festival in Fushiki 伏木曳山祭「けんか山」

Giddily violent collisions!

This is a heroic spring festival held at Fushiki Shrine. At night the six daytime flower floats are transformed into lantern floats that violently crash into each other with lanterns swinging, to the tune of a Yamaga style military taiko drum. Oozing the spirit of a port town that combines colourful brilliance with courage, this is an important festival that hands down both tradition and emotions. Please try to take part in this magnificent festival.
