Johana Mugiya Festival 城端むぎや祭

Festival fever in Etchu’s Little Kyoto!

This is an autumn festival when the district of Johana is taken over by Mugiya. Energetic dances are performed all over the district to the plaintive tones of a kokyu. The Machinami Odori in which local residents and folk troupes perform folk songs on streets pulsating with atmosphere is very popular every year. The Mugiya Odori Competition held on a proper stage at the Johanaza is also popular. Get the full Johana autumn experience by enjoying dances and performances all over the district while savouring the local atmosphere.
