Shinminato Hikiyama Festival しんみなとひきやままつり

The "Lantern Mountain" at night is reflected on the surface of the river and is fantastic

It is one of the annual autumn festivals of Hachimangu Shrine and is a nationally designated Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property. There are 13 hikiyama, the largest number in the prefecture, and it is gorgeous to see them set up in the "Flower Mountain" during the day and "Lantern Mountain" at night.
The date of its founding is unknown, but the Koshinmachi of Ichibanyama was founded in the 3rd year of Keian (1650), and the 13 hikiyama are permuted in a row, and the bravery when turning sharply around a narrow street corner with the unique shout of "Iyasa, Iyasa" is a great highlight.
