Shinminato Marina (Kairyu Marine Park) 新湊マリーナ(海竜マリンパーク)
A marina facility which accents the strengths of Toyama Bay
Outfitted with lifting equipment, fueling facilities, and a repair and maintenance workshop, this is the one of the largest marinas on the Japan Sea coast. The facilities were originally built as the location for the National Sports Festival Sailing Competition, held in Toyama in 2000, and opened for business in 2001. Shinminato Marina takes advantage of Toyama Bay's relatively calm waves and favorable conditions, allowing people to enjoy marine sports such as sailing and fishing year round. From speed boats to cruising yachts, a variety of vessels are moored here, and the marina sees plenty of regular cruiser races and events promoting exchange between prefectures. Shinminato Marina is a much-loved center of exchange for those who are enthusiastic about marine sports within Toyama Prefecture and throughout Japan.
