The Suiboku Museum, Toyama is one of the few art galleries in Japan where you can learn about the background of the modern Japanese style of suiboku-ga, an ancient ink wash painting technique that originated in China. The permanent exhibitions include works by prominent modern suiboku-ga painters such as Taikan Yokoyama and Seiho Takeuchi, as well as various artists from Toyama. Special exhibitions feature a variety of beautiful Japanese art forms such as dyed textiles and ceramics in addition to suiboku-ga. Other facilities include a screening hall, library and Tea Ceremony Room”Bokkouan”. The Suiboku Museum, Toyama provides a cultural experience that will soothe your soul.
