Toyama City Local History Museum (Toyama Castle) 富山市郷土博物館[富山城]
A History Museum in Toyama Castle
Toyama Castle, built on the corner of Toyama Castle Park. The view of the castle over the moat is beautiful and has become a symbol of the city. This keep was built after the war in 1954, and only the moat and the stone walls remain from the original. The Local History Museum found within the castle teaches us about history from its construction to the present. Over 400 years of history, from its construction in the Warring States period to the present, are presented to visitors through models and videos. Furthermore, the observation deck on the 4th floor lets you take in the scale of Toyama Castle during the Edo period. You also cannot miss the 140 cm-tall helmet used by lord Maeda Toshinaga.
