Flowing along one side of Toyama Castle Park, the Matsukawa River is a popular place for Toyama City locals to relax. It’s also one of Toyama’s best cherry blossom spots, attracting throngs of visitors in spring. A sculpture garden has been created on the river bank, with 28 sculptures that calm the souls of passers-by. See the landscape in a whole new way by taking a cruise under the seven bridges of the river. The scenery is particularly impressive in spring, when you can ride through a tunnel of cherry blossoms. Visit this beautiful spot and you’ll see why the people of Toyama are so fond of rivers.
