If you want to try Tonami’s local specialty, Okado somen noodles, this is the place!

A large statue of a raccoon dog greats you as you enter the shop. Kawanabe is a favorite among locals, who are never disappointed by the quality ingredients and cooking methods. The high ceiling makes for a comfortable atmosphere where you can relax as you enjoy local specialties.
This shop owner was one of the first to popularize Tonami’s local noodles, okado somen. This is a great place to experience the firm, tasty noodles which have become a local specialty, and many of the menu items can only be found in this shop!
Of course there are many other options, such as soba and udon noodles, fried pork cutlet, and our specialty shio-ten-don, which features shrimp tempura sprinkled with grilled salt. With so many mouth-watering options, you might have trouble deciding what to order!
With a reputation built on great food and our shop-owner’s character, Kawanabe is always bustling with the local workers and families who make up our repeat customers.
