Shinminato sightseeing cruise 新湊観光船
Experience the appealing atmosphere of the Uchikawa River
Come have a fantastic time on the “Manyomaru” sightseeing boat, which departs from Kaiwomaru Park. Cruise under the cable-stayed Shin-Minato bridge, and then through the Uchikawa River, “the Venice of Japan,” with its twelve characteristic bridges, while enjoying the riverside atmosphere. Uchikawa is called “the Venice of Japan” because of its ambiance (with its businesses, culture, and townhouses). For the people who live there, the riverside is an area where they both live as well as relax. Each of the bridges over the river has its own unique characteristics, such as the Ninomaru Bridge with its castle-like features, the Azuma Bridge with its red gabled roof, the Sanno Bridge which features sculptures made by local artist Mitsuyuki Takeda, and the Kagura Bridge with its bright stained glass. You can enjoy viewing them throughout the changes of the four seasons.
