Keyakidaira 欅平
Last stop on the Kurobe Gorge Railway
Keyakidaira is the last stop on the Kurobe Gorge Railway. This area is packed with unexplored attractions! 600m downstream is the Sarutobi Gorge, named because monkeys (saru) used to jump (tobu) across it a long time ago. On the way to Babadani from the station you will see the 34m high Okugane Bridge, the most spectacular sight in the gorge. On the other side of the bridge is the Cannibal Rock walkway that was made by boring through the rock face. Keyakidaira also has secret hot springs, such as Meiken Onsen and Babadani Onsen. While waiting for your trolley train back, enjoy the unique parts of Kurobe Gorge natural scenery that can only be seen at Keyakidaira.
