Try your hand at making the traditional pills made by Toyama’s traditional medicine practitioners!

Step inside, and you’ll be greeted by this old shop’s signature fragrance of traditional medicine. Its shelves are filled with healthy teas, medicinal herbs, and retro-packaged Japanese and Chinese medicines. One of these is Toyama’s well-known traditional stomachache remedy, Etchu-hangontan.

You can also try your hand at an experience offered nowhere else in Japan: making your own traditional pills! Be sure to also try a meal at Kenkozen Yakuto. This restaurant on the shop’s first floor is known for serving delicious cuisine made with medicinal herbs.
