Toyama Prefectural Central Botanical Garden 富山県中央植物園

A soothing space where you can encounter plants throughout the four seasons

Spanning an area of approximately 24.5 hectares, this botanical garden collects and displays about 6,600 species of plant. Divided by the "Flower Promenade", the outdoor exhibition area is separated into the “Global Plants Zone” on the north side and the “Japanese Plants Zone” on the south side. It features plants from the eastern regions of North America, the Yunnan Province in China, species unique to the Sea of Japan region, and plants closely associated with human life.

Every year from mid-March to early May, visitors can admire approximately 140 varieties of cherry blossoms, including species native to Toyama Prefecture and foreign varieties that cannot be found anywhere else in Japan.

In the five exhibition greenhouses, visitors can enjoy plants that bloom beautifully throughout the seasons, as well as rare plants from around the world.

Closed	Every Thursday (except on the first and second Thursdays of April, as well as Thursdays that fall on a national holiday, Golden Week, or the Obon holiday period). Year-end and New Year holidays (closed December 28–January 4) *The park may be temporarily closed if wind speeds exceed 20 m/s or based on warnings issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency.

Notes	Accessibility: We have 7 accessible parking spaces, 15 wheelchairs available for loan, and accessible restrooms. For visitors with young children, 10 strollers are available at the entrance. Additionally, diaper-changing tables are provided in all women’s restrooms throughout the garden. A rest room and nursing room are available inside the Dryas Hall. Visitors accompanied by service dogs for people with disabilities (guide dogs, service dogs, and hearing dogs) are welcome.
