Enjoy a traditional taste of Toyama that has stood the test of time

Experience the 300 years of history behind the techniques and traditions of Toyama’s trout sushi. The Trout Sushi Museum shows you the techniques of the seasoned sushi makers and the time-honoured process by which the sushi is made. You can also watch a video on a giant projector screen, enjoy a multi-dish meal with delicious Toyama seafood and mountain vegetables at the rest house, and buy Toyama specialties in the souvenir area. You can even make your own trout sushi! (Reservation required: ¥1,000.)

・Watch various processes for making trout sushi, from moulding with bamboo to packaging the sushi
・Exhibits of rare bento boxes and travel containers from the Edo Period (1603-1867) to the Showa Period (1926-1988)
・Watch the staff make trout sushi by time-honoured processes (may not be shown at certain times or on certain days)
